The first publicly accessible hydrogen station in Belgium opened on 22nd of April 2016 as part of the FCH2 JU funded project, SWARM. The Air Liquide station opened in the presence of the Flemish Minister and Director of Innovative and Sustainable Mobility at the European Commission, with SWARM partners H20 e-mobile and Microcab Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles on show.
Today British carmaker Riversimple has revealed a new hydrogen-powered car that is set to go into market trials later this year as part of the FCH JU funded project SWARM.
SWARM partners were invited to Coventry for fifth consortium meeting
Riversimple’s Mk2 production prototype, with third generation powertrain developed throughout the year in a Mk1 vehicle, performed perfectly in its initial trials in late October. Final assembly of the full car is scheduled for December and a public launch is planned for January 2016.

A SWARM of 100 fuel cell vehicles to travel across Europe
Hydrogen powered vehicles are considered the future of road transport in Europe but are not widely available for customers in the market today. The European FCH JU funded project SWARM ("Demonstration of Small 4-Wheel fuel cell passenger vehicle Applications in Regional and Municipal transport") has now kicked off.
SWARM started at October 1st 2012.
