JEREMY CORBYN DELIVERS KEY BREXIT SPEECH IN COVENTRY

The Labour Party descended on Coventry to deliver a key Brexit speech at the National Transport Design Centre (NTDC), just a stone’s throw away from Microcab headquarters. Jeremy Corbyn outlined a commitment to 'a' Customs Union which would allow frictionless trade to be maintained throughout the EU once the UK leaves. For this he chose a venue at the heart of the automotive industry, a sector which relies heavily on pan-European agreements to maintain its supply chain network. Microcab was invited to provide fuel cell vehicles (part of the FCH-JU SWARM project fleet) as backdrop to the event. This attracted a great deal of interest from the media, and also resulted in a visit to our factory by the Sky News team to film and discuss Brexit issues with a local manufacturer.

Microcab welcomes this development, as our own supply chain currently stretches from the UK to Italy, France, Germany, and further afield to Canada and the USA. With the continuing growth of the company, including the development of Microcab’s new Left Hand Drive vehicles (initially for the German market) we will be keeping a close eye on Brexit developments over the coming weeks and months.

The Corbyn speech was captured extensively on film, news & social media across the UK, EU and the world, with fuel cell vehicles on show. This provided a timely advertisement for the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle industry, currently showing strong indicators of growth, and for the forthcoming events of the London Hydrogen Week. http://www.hydrogenlondon.org/news/hydrogen-week/
